Lecture Series: Duccio, Giotto and the Origins of Western Painting

November 20, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

This lecture explores the lives and major works of these two pioneering artists—one long famous, the other only more recently so—and examines the context for their groundbreaking achievements.

Gregory Waldrop, S.J., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at Loyola University New Orleans. Father Waldrop works on the art and architecture of late medieval and early modern Italy, with a focus on 14th- and 15th-century painting in Central Italy and Tuscany.

Register

The lectures are free for AICC members and students with a valid university or high school ID, and a suggested donation of $10 for non-members.
